Care Philosophy

Our practice emphasizes the integration of Western and Complementary Medicine. Our focus is on women's health care emphasizing prevention of illness and the promotion vibrant ongoing health. I develop simplified, yet effective, personalized lifestyle changes that will be sustainable in the future. Each person is unique and I prescribe based on that individual's needs. There are situations that call for maximum medication and intervention and there are other situations that can be addressed by slower, more gentle interventions. We strive to deliver the healthcare that is best for you.

2010 Programs-New!

It is increasingly difficult to give the type of health care I would like given the limitations of insurance reimbursement. As of January 1, 2010, I have chosen to withdraw from insurance contracting. Our new financial policy will be for you to pay for your exam at the time of service. We accept checks, MasterCard, Visa and Discover.  We will give you a "superbill" which you can use to file a claim with your insurance company. You will need to review your specific policy to determine benefits.

This is not a boutique or concierge practice. There is no annual fee. It is a community supported pay-as-you-go program. This new policy will allow our office to offer several additional health programs as well as for me to spend more time with each individual. The core porgram is the annual exam. This will be 30 or 60 minutes and allow for in depth review of your health with recommendations for improvements. We will have time to discuss the more advanced testing and interventions available as well as a range of integrated and complementary therapy options.

I will also offer the following programs:

Tai Chi Chuan Classes- a moving meditation, also known as "The Supreme Ultimate"

Quarterly "Mini-Medical School" lectures on a topic collectively chosen

Outstanding supplements manufactured in a Pharmaceutical quality facility

State of the Art on line e-mail access.

Partnership with Quest Diagnostics for rapid laboratory results on line.

Networking for local food sourcing: Farmers Markets, Community Supported Agriculture

Outdoor adventures and expeditions

We will offer three visit options: an annual exam that is thirty minutes or sixty minutes depending on complexity, and a fifteen minute followup appointment. Our preliminary fee schedule will be $250.00 for a one hour annual, $150.00 for a thirty minute annual and $75.00 for a fifteen minute follow up visit. I anticipate that one or two visits a year will be about right.

Our goal is to give you the tools you need to lead a vigorous, healthy life and to reach your highest potential. Please join us in 2010 for the great adventure of life.

I will be adding more details of each program soon. Please check back periodically.

This website has new software that I am just beginning to figure out. Stay tuned!

A Simple Prescription for Health

You can get excellent advice about improving your nutrition from The American Institute for Cancer Research, 1-800-843-8114, or on the web at www.aicr.org. They have a large number of free brochures and also have authored an excellent Cookbook called The New American Plate.

You may need to take some calcium as a supplement. Citrical is very well tolerated and well absorbed by all age groups. They have a chewable product and most have some Vitamin D.

Flax seed oil and fish oil are excellent sources of Omega Essential Fatty Acids. Do not use for cooking. Take on tablespoon daily, and this should supply about 1,000 mg Omega essential fatty acids. Udo's Oil and Nordic Naturals are our favorites.

I believe that everyone should take at least basic Multi Vitamin. It is not always possible to have a balanced diet in our busy world. I have worked with Integrative Therapeutics, Inc. for many years and they are the by far the best producer of nutritional supplements. We have developed a program in our office that will allow the company to ship your supplements monthly.

This organization is committed to providing a safe, comfortable environment where patients and staff can be confident that the best practices are being followed at all times. Our patients are entitled to have a chaperone present for any examination, consultation or procedure she feels is necessary. This chaperone may be a family member or friend. On occasion you may prefer a formal chaperone to be present, and we will have a member of our staff available. Whenever possible, it is asked that you make the request for a chaperone at the time of booking an appointment. When this is not possible, we will endeavor to provide a formal chaperone at the time of request. Dr. Taylor may also require a chaperone to be present for certain examinations and treatments.
